Work Package 2Geographical Information Systems (GIS)The term Geographical Information Systems (GIS) describes a combination of computer hardware, software and digital geographic data for capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographically relevant information. The goal of PlanCoast is to promote the use of GIS in facilitating the spatial planning processes in coastal and maritime zones according to principles of Integrated Coastal Zone Management.
